DESCRIPTION:Please join El Pueblo History Museum and the Consulate General of Mexico in Denver for the opening of our newest exhibit\, Folklórico Espectacular\, featuring Amalia Hernandez. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe opening reception will include performances by Grupo Folklórico del Pueblo\, CSU-Pueblo Ballet Folklórico\, and Grupo Omawari\, along with free museum admission and light refreshments.Ballet Folklórico has a long history in Pueblo\, with many different groups and troupes both dancing together and facing off in competitions through the years. \n\n\n\nThis exhibit celebrates the origin of Ballet Folklórico in Mexico\, its arrival in the United States\, and the people who brought it to Pueblo where it remains a vibrant and celebrated tradition to this day. \n\n\n\nThis exhibit\, in the free Community Gallery\, features photos chronicling the life and performances of Mexican choreographer Amalia Hernández\, who changed the scene of dance around the world thanks to her vibrant\, colorful\, and powerful performances emphasizing the diverse yet shared cultural arts of Mexico. She was one of the pioneers of Ballet Folklórico as an art form\, and continues to be celebrated today.
